Ports and Harbors: Geotechnical investigations
With the advent of offshore wind and a growing demand on California’s port systems, Pitcher is ready to support expansion and development of ports and harbors. We can move from on-land operations to over-water with the same skilled team and versatile equipment.
From offshore foundation and liquefaction studies, soil sampling and coring, to establishing baseline conditions and determining material quantities for dredging programs; Pitcher can operate in the waterways around ports and harbors, and complete drilling programs in near shore environments.
Lakes and Reservoirs: Drilling with small boats and barges
Pitcher has conducted site investigations using a range of platforms including jack-up boats and barges, sectional barges, and support vessels. Through our parent company, Sealaska, we work closely with CS Marine located in Vallejo, CA. CS Marine is a marine construction company that owns and operates numerous barges at our disposal. In addition, our marine drilling & testing equipment can be operated from vessels of opportunity which allows us to reduce mobilization cost and respond quickly to clients’ needs. These platforms allow for maximum flexibility to suit project conditions and can easily be deployed in most marine settings.
Drilling, Cone Penetration Testing (CPT), seismic testing and various sampling activities can all be accomplished over-water. Please contact our Project Managers for more information on what over-water platforms would be best equipped for your specific project needs.
